I see all domains have been changed to US optimisation.

Is there any way of setting them back to UK in bulk, or do we need to go through them individually?

If we do, will they stay that way, or will they just change back again?

Hi Bruce,

I'm not sure what you mean by set to US optimization. Our ads are all Geo-targeted so, if you are looking at them from the UK, they will show UK ads, there is no optimization per country unless you are actually in that country. If you can send me any examples, I'll have a look into it for you.

There must be some fault in the system, then.

If I go into my screen and click on the little magnifying glass to get the preview screen, then click on the optimize (sic) link and the country shows as United States. You will see that the ads tend to be for US sites.

If you change it to United Kingdon and refresh, the ads change to mainly UK sites.

I am in the UK and I am speaking about .co.uk websites. One I haven't changed is islandhideaways.co.uk which is showing as US optimized. Go in to my account and change that to UK, then refresh it and you will see what I mean.

If all of our domains have been changed to US optimisation, we are unlikely to get as much interest in the content from our UK visitors to our UK sites.

Hi Bruce,

When looking in the optimization settings for a domain they are defaulted on United States as you say. This does show in the preview US related ads as you say which did worry me a bit.

But if you manually type in the URL like a visitor would it does seem that all the links are infact UK targeted like Ed is saying.

Hope that helps,

Mat

Hi Bruce,

Ah, I see now. The preview screen is just that, a preview. It is not actually a settings page. It is just so you can see how your domain would look in different ad regions. I have also noticed that it has now defaulted to United States (whereas it used to be the IP of the viewer - in your case UK) as default. I've already asked tech to change this, so this should not be an issue very shortly.

Just to update you guys on this, it's been fixed now :)
