What is a "DQ lock"?

Message in my Nominet panel: "For Accredited tags, a DQ lock can be applied to contacts within ‘Manage Contacts’. "

DQ = Data Quality, which I thought was being used along with address validation but even though I have a green DQ tick my whois is still showing as "awaiting address validation".. hmm.

Thanks Dave, but what is being locked? Why would someone want to use this?
