Sent out some emails a few days ago for this recently-registered domain.
Sold a few moments ago for £200.

Do you reckon I could register DryIceBlastCleaning.uk and sell it to them for £100 then :p

You can try. I'll share details a little later.

Shouldn't you register it and transfer it with the co.uk when it's time?

For me, the fact the .UK was ftr indicates the company has no idea what they're doing and shouldn't be buying this domain.

The fact is 97.5% of end users we contact have never heard of .UK (aside from a few articles here and there) and prefer to stick with the brand ending they know/trust.

Just because a company does not invest in a certain extension, it does not mean that "the company has no idea what they're doing and shouldn't be buying" a certain domain.

If I had approached them with the .UK initially, I wouldn't be going too far to say that they may have thought it was a scam.

A few do get it, but they are few and far between. .UK will be playing catch up for the foreseeable future.

Companies invest in what they trust and know. The vast majority do not prefer short/NEW (ex .CO / .UK) over what they already trust (.COM / .CO.UK), with the backing of billions of marketing $/£.

Why is DryIceBlastCleaning.co.uk worth £200 and DryIceBlastCleaning.uk not worth registering?

No one said DryIceBlastCleaning.co.uk is worth £200 or that DryIceBlastCleaning.uk is not worth registering.

The buyer paid £200 because DryIceBlastCleaning.co.uk is worth £200 to them. If they are not interested in DryIceBlastCleaning.uk, it does not equate that it is not worth registering.

Needs/wants/domain investment preferences differ from company to company.

It equates to them not bothering to check, or them not thinking it was worth registering

Both would lead me to believe they don't know what they are doing.

both scenarios......

1) they have not bothered to check
2) them not thinking it was worth registering

...... equate to the .UK extension being of little importance/value to that particular business.

Why would .co.uk make sense for £200 but getting the .uk for £4 not make sense

Doesn't make sense.

Doesn't make sense to continue to argue about it either; it's a good sale for you, I doubt it will be a good buy for them.

It is not a case of that domain not being a good buy for them.

From how I think you see it, it could potentially be an even better buy/investment, if they also secured the rights to the .UK
