eCommerce script for 'Renting', rather than just buying?

Hi,

I am looking for a shopping cart that allows us to 'Hire' products rather than sell them.

Can anyone recommend a solution or maybe a plugin for some eCommerce software we can use?

Is it not just a matter of making sure that the description against items and any T&Cs refer to a rental period rather than ownership of a product? i.e. "you are buying 12 months rental of xxxx."

What kind of differences would you think a cart needs to handle rental items? I suppose something to check available dates (if we are talking short term hire) would be helpful - think of how holiday companies do it.

Should be some kind of DVD rental script out there you could modify for products of your own...

PG Realty does this, the system can run in 2 modes and they can both be configured further with lots of variables, its a bit pricey though!
