email verification problem

I'm implemented an email verification on one of my sites ( Petition )

The problem I've got is the email seems to be ending up in the spam folder, so the person doesn't seem to see it/get it.

Has anyone any advice on how to stop this from happening?

Have you set up your domain properly?

SPF Record and Domain Keys ?

Check the DBL's for any websites on your server which are flagged ?
