I would like your advice please on hiding my home address etc. when registering .co.uk domains for business use.

From what I can gather a few of you are using scanmypost and PO boxes. Before I dive in I want to check whether this is still the best way to go about this.

I'm not one of those paranoid people but because I work from home I don't particularly want my details available for all to see. Thanks and by the way this is my first post so Hello from me, glad to meet you all :)
thank you
Julian

If you are registering for business use, then use your registered address. If your registered address is your home and you really don't want this given out, then get a PO Box or a business address to use, but you must have your details available for a .uk domain business registration. Don't assume that by using a PO Box / business address that your details will remain private though. If you are trading via any of your domains you need to provide a valid address.

Any individual (as opposed to a company or organisation) registering a .uk domain name has the option to opt out of the Whois database after their domain has been registered. Organisations and companies are required to submit their details to the public Whois database.

Any individual registering a .eu domain name is automatically exempt from public Whois entry during the domain registration process. Organisations and companies are required to submit their details to the public Whois database.

For all other top-level domains (TLDs), a public entry in the Whois database is automatic and mandatory, however our Privacy Service can be used to hide your personal information from the Whois database.

Unless your making money or selling via your site, then you can't opt-out.

I recently had my shared mailbox address queried (mailbox etc) by nominet not sure if they are taking exception to mail boxes now or whats going on.
