Sean, if that link is one you were sent on MSN via spam, you might want to make the link unclickable in case there's a virus on the site.

Somethings going on with my pc now. says firefox is running when its not what should i do?

ive emailed AOL, phoned them and all sorts they are dealing with it but they are a joke. Ill make sure its sorted tho :(

I removed the clickable link, I didnt even click on it. I am running a scan now - it does not look likes its found anything.

Maybe a glitch?

No threats detected with microsoft security essentials.

Sounds like a classic trojan virus. Had this a couple of times before and it crippled my browsers making researching the virus impossible. Had to use my gf's laptop to find what i needed and it took lots of trial and error.

If you are in this situation let me know as might have a couple of suggestions that may help.

I know what they are like Rob dont worry it seems ok, must be paraniod.

Is there anything i can do my end, what about if i removed you on msn? with your old account will that stop it?

Hi Lovecraft,

I run a quick scan but it didnt find anything (i am using microsft security essentials)

Just sent rob the screen grabs, i have normally just trashed them but today not sure why i opened it to see

Hi Sean and / or Rob,

If it turns out you think you may be infected with a trojan i would highly recommend trying Kasperky's anti rootkit which can be downloaded here from their site for free:

I might be barking up the wrong tree, but it sounds like you might have a trojan and after trying every virus killer under the sun this was the only one that worked for me although something similar might be what you need if it has evolved since my computer had it last year.

It might be worth downloading malwarebytes and giving it a one off scan with that. It tends to find things others don't:
