Anyone use FastHosts on a dedicated server package? :)

Looking to change mine (currently costs £200 P/M and is over priced IMO) to a better/cheaper package.

Any comments? Thanks. :D

Just to update this; took out a d-server with these muppets, long debate later (and complaint escalation) got full refund & cancellation under 'distance selling regs' as the server doesn't have WHM, etc and management is awful and so on, it was totally mis-sold to me via their sales dept.

Support awful, unhelpful, 'bog standard' replies from them, very unsatisfying experience and expected more from these guys. :(

I use them for Domains reg. and that's about all I'd touch them for personally!

Been with them for 10 years - apart from couple of instances of downtime - been good for me.

i've been using one of the cheapo (£49pm) FH dedicated servers for a year now and its totally fine - as long as you don't hammer the shit out of it :D - e.g 1000+ mysql dbs and e-commerce websites.

Theres probably cheaper out there, but one will say support seems good so far and prob worth paying little extra for that..

The truth is you get what you pay for. For complete piece of mind, Rackspace is the only way to go imo. You'll haemorrhage hard earned lolly, but you'll reduce the stress of hosting to a minimum. Their service and reliability is exceptional.

if you pm us your dn totals held / requirements / etc may be able to help with a ded for you

I am in negotiations with rackspace now, one of my clients (the one that resulted in me dropping a K on a hotel) was insistant that it was a rackspace server.

Its their not-so-hard-earned cash so Rackspace or Havenco, I don't care.

Currently the price range they are talking for a high end server in a cluster config to match the clients 'spec' which is multiple times what they require, with a contingency to add a load balancer and a second server (this is many times what they require but as I say they insisted), is around £700-800 per month for the single server and 2.5-3x with contingency, no deals have been mentioned for annual payment but it is a 12 month contract.

If anyone wants the contact for the tech or final price let me know, and I'll let you know when its sorted :)
