This is a news story that will really play out in the weeks and months ahead, but about 5 minutes ago the FCC voted in favour of net neutrality. This is a huge deal for the sustained growth of the internet.

(Of course the FCC is a US institution, but their decision has global ramifications given that the US is by far the most significant online market at present)
