Free domain reg

After looking at an affiliate site I shop through the following caught my eye.

Its a microsoft site that reads as FREE with free this and that but the reason im posting here is the carrot of free domain.

anyone already signed up or got the time to jump through the hoops?

It is only a free trial and when the trial ends, I guess the domain might end up under their control...
