Normally when I watch a Youtube video, I go through the usual rigmarole of deleting the popups as soon as they show so i can watch in peace. On this occasion however, Google were one step ahead of me, see this video:

If the same ads appear, you go and click the 'x' in the advert in the lower left position, only to then realize you've clicked on a clear ad placed directly over it.

Gits!

Think I remember seeing this somewhere else - clicking the x directing me to the website rather than closing the advert.

Advertising on the net is starting to collapse. More flashy ads, more popups, more forced viewing - people reacting less and less and so publishers pushing ads out even more so to increase revenue.......no-one thinking of long term picture and so soon its going to reach the top of its cycle.

I've seen Yahoo now place 30 sec video in front on entertainment news clips (near misses, cat with 5 feet, striker who missed the goal from 1 yard with no keeper) with no ability to skip. Seriously!?!

The net needs ads, but with publishers and agencies thinking about now rather than later, it's become an uncluttered and unorganised mess.

Thats really annoying they do it on all of the videos on newspaper websites, and I also really hate when you go onto regional papers like the nottingham evening post and a video starts playing automatically.

Got even more annoyed this morning. Not only do I have a hefty Sky subscription, and pay £5 a month for SkyGo - after downloading a program to watch offline I had to watch TWO damn un-skipable adverts.....it's only just started doing this, but how long until 3, 4 or 5+!
