Should be interesting to see how this will affect results.

I wonder how they will be selecting alternative providers - I suspect the average developer still won't get a look-in :-)

For me personally, the biggest issue is their promotion of their own comparison services above organic results - I'm hoping that will change now.

The ever smaller space given to organic results above the fold has also been a problem but I'm not sure that will be affected.

yep, their 'do no evil' was really being shoved down by the corporate bean counters.

Noticed as well the recent 'increase in advertising revenue'. How much of this was an increase in the way they were displacing organic results, how much in added adwords spending, and how much they are skimming off the top in adsense payouts!
