Google's New Infinite Scroll In Web Search Results

I already got this, thought it worked fine - no problems with it!

At least all my sites will be on page 1 :p.

Do they place ads between the organic results, every X number of results?

I've came to the conclusion that any changes G makes are purely revenue driven. Although I haven't seen it, I expect this change will be so that they can incorporate yet more paid ads, affiliate links etc with the organic results, polluting the organic results further.

I'm guessing FAR fewer people will go beyond the "first" page - more chance of a click on the ads on the top/right of the "only 10" results (because most people won't hunt beyond the first page - or necessarily even realise they can - if the easy page numbers are taken away)

I disagree, many websites are employing this way of extending page content. Facebook uses it in news feeds so people are used to results extending without clicking to a second results page.

I think, if it has any effect at all on user behaviour, more people will see results 11 - 20. If in future Google make new results load automatically as the page scrolls down, positions 11+ will become slightly more valuable than they are now.

Promoting the use of more than just 10 search results for each query, without causing any extra work for the end user, would be a great step forwards in search.
