Help with a Wikipedia entry

My understanding is that you can't submit an organisation to Wikipedia if you are involved with that organisation?

I have limited experience editing Wikipedia entries, but I'm involved with two national public-interest organisations that I feel are deserving of a page. Is there anyone on here who would be willing to help me set them up or guide me through the process?
