How should the city .co.uk be regged?

I've come across a city domain that is free to reg. The city is officially written as firstname-secondname but some people say the you should reg a domain without the hyphen if possible. So what should be registered, firstnamesecondname.co.uk or firstname-secondname.co.uk?
