Hyphenated Domains - Is it true that many businesses in the UK like them?

I read the thread below, and I just wonder if it is true. I never noticed this before. It seems that Baldonius is from the UK as well because he advertises a UK website in his signature.

I can confirm that in "Germany" they prefer the hyphen version, but I don't know about the UK.

That's what I have learned from NamePros' thread too! I don't know German, but I have some German friends that I may ask for their help.

Dealt a lot with .de Germans don’t prefer – they will use it though if the non .de is regged they were very pro .de to the extent they didn’t even think com first? although that’s a lot less now
