Does anyone have any experience in registering domains in Ireland?

I'm looking for someone to recommend a Registrar and if the Registration Policies are in any way problematic -

All applicants applying for a .ie domain name who are not situated in the 32 counties of Ireland, must demonstrate a real and substantive connection with Ireland (with the exception of those applying by means of Community Trademark). .... etc etc etc ....

Yes, I have done it.

When I researched Irish domain companies, I found blacknight.com. They aren't the cheapest, but they have a fairly slick website. Their owner also posts at irishwebmasterforum.com as blacknight (I think he might even run that forum, and I think he might be a member here too).

The registration process is more involved and I had to send a covering letter to support my application, but it can be done.

Blacknight are definitely a slick operation. Michele Neylon is CEO and is a member here but I forget his handle. They are also Nominet members.
