For my parked domains how important is it to put some kind of webpage, if only a 123-reg holding page? I would expect this to a least get you in the google search engine but is this essential if you want to keep your domain names??

Charlie,

Point all your domains to a PPC parking programme so that any traffic you generate brings you commission whilst you are waiting to sell your names.

I now have a few names that earn so much in PPC that I would have to sell them for a good price for it to be worth it.

Even if each site only makes 1p per day this covers your reg fee for 1 year.

PPC parking programmes are supplied by:

www.urlportfolio.com
www.sedo.co.uk
Afternic
to name a few.

Some thing im working on is to build a search engine and then point your domains to search results

you earn more money this way

Thanks Lee

i will use mirago for all the search content payed and non paid links etc

also looking @ espotting

Thanks Lee

I have a sedo account and a majority of my domains are currently at 123-reg?

Which is the best way to do the sedo partner program should I change the nameserver or use URL forwarding?@?

anything special i should stick in the other areas??

thanks guys

I prefer URL Portfolio as they let you add your own Banner to the top of your page and a pop-up / pop-under. The banner can also have a link through to whatever affiliate site it is promoting so I tend to find one relevant to the domain name, to increase the chances of getting a click-through.

Take a look at RobinsCinemas.co.uk for example, this has a DVD rental banner at the top. When you exit RobinsCinemas.co.uk, it launches a pop-under to my easyorder.co.uk site.

I am not sure if Sedo provides this feature.

Changing Nameservers is the better method as far as I know as some Search Engines don't like web forwarding.

this site "RobinsCinemas.co.uk" is on Sedo? or is this not your domain anymore?

I have asked this on another thread but if I park at sedo is it best to use web forwarding so you can capture the emails through 123-reg? or stick to nameserver changes?

nameserver, 123reg re-direct goes down all the time.

If you use URLP you can have the best of both worlds, point the domain A record to the URLP servers, but keep the domain on your own dns, with your own MX records.

If you use sedo you have to change the domain to there nameservers, these are more reliable than a re-direct.. but as you say, you loose the MX record.

I just went to URLP and clicked 2 links

2. phoneunlocking.info
3. auctionuk.info

from the new domains section

3. auctionuk.info = this one is a 404
and
2. phoneunlocking.info = is on sedo

this aint a great advert for their service
