iphone 3gs problem - waiting for activation, this may take some time

Woo hoo ! I took delivery of my new Iphone 3gs 32gb this morning and I am experiencing this problem for the last hour or so, since installing itunes etc etc :

"Waiting for activation - this may take some time" being displayed on the screen

My wife had her phone last week and it took about 20 mins to come through, but this is taking ages.

Anyone else experience this with theirs ?

Try turning the phone off and back on again.

Yep done it 3 or 4 times now

try holding down the home and lock button for 7-8 secs, its like a soft factory reset. but takes an age to start up again

normally solves the issues with mine (although if your on payg you have to re-enter the cellular data network apn to payandgo.o2.co.uk to get internet back)
