Not really sure if this is the correct forum but does anyone have a list of brand names they want to share or know where I could get one from? Any format would do, text file, csv or SQL etc.

I want to automatically exclude brand names from the 1000+ domains dropping every day before I spend time researching them. I can do the scripting I just need the raw data. :)

Anyone got any ideas?

This is what I have on file, click here

Does that help? (a free copy of your script would be good in return) ;)

Thanks, that's definitely a good start!

I'm guessing that list came from affiliate sources which has given me an idea on how to get more but still looking for anything more definitive if anyone has any suggestions. I have spent some time scouring the web to no avail, really surprised there's no list anywhere containing big names such as Nokia, Motorola, Michelin etc.

I'd be happy to share the brand name exclusion script once finished although I'd warn that I'm old school so it'll be written in Perl! ;-)

Here's a page from Awin's ShopWindow solution. As you can see, it's displaying brand info. ShopWindow is accessible via webservices, so you might be able to extract the brand info from their XML feeds?

Thanks guys, just what the doctor ordered, any more for any more?

I think what I'll do is knock up a front end like admin's "lowercase" script and then make it public so anyone can be forewarned about potential brand name issues. I'll post in Domain Tools forum once done.

Bear in mind many brands are generic such as Orange, Apple, Game etc. One wouldn't want to filter these out.
