Wow - mind blowing amounts of supposidly good download sites out there for MS software. I'm looking to purchase:

1)Currently Using windows 7 home premium(64 bit) would like to upgrade to "7 pro" or better for the virtual XP environment. (for some of my legacy software)

2)Full version-Outlook 2010 (because i'm used to outlook and i'm also using BT open office which uses outlook live) Already have office 2010 Student and home installed (Came as an Argos package with my Samsung laptop)

seen prices that and (site domains) that just don't seem right - I been quoted £43 for Outlook (which i would be happy with) but they wanted Visa only - I've got mastercards

ANYBODY able to recommend a good (cheap) legit software download Co - I don't need the discs - though I'd want to know the keys are good for any future re-installs .

Many thanks
Ray

Just had a quick look for you. ;)

Are you still a student? If so, this could be a good deal and cover what you need:

http://www.software4students.co.uk/Office_Pro_Plus____Windows_7__Pro_Upgrade_32_bit-details.aspx

That website is linked to from Microsoft.com so seems to be legit:

http://www.microsoft.com/uk/education/students/software4students/default.aspx

Nope I'm not a student anymore (but I suppose I can justify home use)

Some of the offers (Google search - cheap MS Office/upgrades/software) are mind -blowing but most come with worrying overtures. - I just want the best legit deal I can find

The student stuff is great pricing WB ( I've looked) and i'd love to take advantage of it, but hey I'm a domain reseller I've got to draw the line somewhere. thanks for the suggestion

PS Now if Microsoft had a retirement use package - I'm in.

What I'm hoping is that someone has found a trusted site (they use and that hasn't let them down) at cheap download pricing (100's are out there - just hard to know whats to be trusted)

Cheers for that link WB - i owe you a big drink

Not for the faint hearted though - (taken me a good few hours to take off everything that was in the way (so to speak) The trouble is all NEW systems are sold with every Microsoft option pre-installed.(as you probably know and you've got to remove them) I guessing thats there way of stopping those kind of future downloads. (you've got to know your commands to get it working on a new system)

But hey thank you it's been a worthwhile night. Up and running my man

Only way you are going to get it cheap is non-legit or to use a home & student version, however, the home & student version is for non-commercial use so you'd be in violation of the license. If you want Outlook, then you need the Home & Business or Professional versions.

You could try the Microsoft Partner route, you can do a few qualification tests ( a bit like mini exams) and sign up as a partner, this gives you access to a pool of software for internal use (licensed for up to 10 PC's for most apps), this has a yearly license fee though.

As your unwilling to go down the student route which is by far the cheapest and safest way to get Microsoft software with a legit key should you meet any of the of the quite broad uses.
A quick search found this
http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Win...d_t=201&pf_rd_p=1314353122&pf_rd_i=B002JYU5WI

I'm not sure how easy it is to purchase with a uk card or address but maybe a domaining friend stateside can help if it proves to be troublesome.
The us site also has good office deals

You do know that Win7 comes with Windows Mail, could you not use that instead. I believe that there are XP emulators about that will enable you to run your software under Win7.

Thanks for the responses guys,

I'm now sorted, It is a new laptop so just rebuit it over-night using WBs suggestion, to comply with the upgrade restrictions etc. Everything seems to be working fine , fingers crossed
