has anyone got any recommendations for mailing list software? I've email addresses all over the place at the moment and want to put them all in one place.

If you want to create a mail-list, there's mailman in most cPanel installs. You can provide signup pages and create multiple lists and all sort of good stuff.

No personal experience of this, although thinking of buying it.
sendstudio, but was highly recommended to me by someone who tried several others before finding one that he was happy with.

Not cheap, but apparently does what it ought to very well.

Be interested to hear if anyone else used it.

I know alot of professionals use this to send newsletter and keep their newsletter groups up-to-date

Just started using this and it's the dogs nuts - simple and easy to use. Costs about £70 but it's def worth it.

I use Your Mailing List Provider, the free version does the job, you can upgrade if you don't like their fairly discreet ads.

With the mailing software, which SMTP server do you guys use?
Obviously the online newsletter email companies send the emails for you and therefore have their own SMTP server.

However if I started sending to my list of emails (in excess of 50k at last count) then my service provider might get a bit miffed.
