I would go the other way to most and say a keyword .net is more valuable than hyphenated .com. In my experience, hyphenated .coms sell for relatively little while good .nets can sell for very nice money. Whether I would want my company name on a .net is another story.
how about non hyphen .co domain? .co are really in and very brandable, but if I have to pick between Green-Widgets.com and GreenWidgets.net, I will go for .net, it is more brandable and gives much more serious vibes, - just kills the credibility for me.
