I've posted in this section as it seems the place where members give suggestions on how to develop. I'm not really after an appraisal of possible selling price, more an idea of how to develop, but any appraisals given would of course be welcome. But to the name:

screamo.co.uk

Google Keyword Tool:
AvgCPC: £0.28
Exact Local: 6600
Exact Global: 201000
Plus many additional sub-terms like 'screamo bands', 'screamo clothing' etc.

And for those grandads out there that don't know what type of music screamo is, some info:

Screamo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Urban Dictionary: screamo

It's a very big musical genre in the US, and is getting more so in the UK.

So, do any of you have any thoughts on the best way to develop this? I know many of you have made successes of music/clothing/lifestyle sites, so I'd be very interested to hear what you have to say.

Oh, and don't hold back with an appraisal if you think it's worth millions... ;)

Cheers,
Mike.

I would think about using AdSense on the site, and promoting mobile phones as well.

You've identified other things you can sell, i.e. clothing, music etc, the problem with these informational sites is that people are just looking to be entertained, so they aren't in buying mode. For instance, if you wanted to sell clothing, you'd probably be better off starting sites specifically dedicated to clothing, as it's better for search ranking, e.g. mens shirts, raincoats.

Hope that helps.

Hey Accelerator,

Thanks for replying: some interesting thoughts there. For instance, I'd never considered mobile phones, but they exactly fit the target demographic. Good one.

I think you're right about identifying the things that will make money - eg clothing - otherwise it could just be paying lots of money for bandwidth.

I wonder if a community of fans etc would be an initial way to go? The usual message board etc, but connected to band pages from which merchandise can be sold etc. Perhaps if the community takes off merchandise could be produced for the site itself: screamo.co.uk t-shirts, caps, wristbands etc.

Agree also with what you say about having to nudge people into buying. How to do it?

Thanks again for your thoughts. Any more from anyone?

Mike.
