I'm sorry this is totally n00bie, I've been looking for a good explaination and all I need is some input or a link to something that has what I'm looking for.

My sites are on google, just not "on google", they must be page 200000 or so. How do you help this? I mean, I think I'm doing something wrong. I learned about meta tags and those helped get the titles right, after 5 days. Ya, it took 5 days to change the website data. Am I doing something wrong?

If the googlebot doesnt look at keywords and discriptions, what does it look at?

It would be very helpful if you could post a link as an example to one of your pages you're trying to get indexed.

Hi - it would make providing an answer a lot quicker if you could provide an idea of your hosting and the domain name in question?

I got a few, but here's the mains:

apstuds.com (its a study group for ap tests)

xperienceco.com (not fully completed, gotta change everything to % cuz the pixels get messed up from comp to comp)

easymesotheliomalawyers.info (a namedrive parked website for now)

donateredcross.com (sounds like I'm a bad ole scammer, but if you go to the site and read it, you'll realize its actually set up to stop fraudulent practices, then it meta redirects in 12 seconds to a parked site *to increase revenue cause its still in creation*)

diablowrestling.com (mission viejo high schools wrestling team)

Those are my current projects for now, I got a few other domains but, I need these to be optimized quiker than others.

so how do you get high on google? Is it just links that google really uses to choose pr? Thats kindve what I've read, but what else is involved? Any one that could help me learn this whole voting system would be greatly appreciated, cuz it makes absolutely no sense right now. How does it know what gets a higher vote? How do you make your votes higher?

God, this crap is a lot harder than I thought it would be...

o ya, on this topic, i want my links to show up in lots of places, so I've been adding them to signatures of forums, but, how come its not working on this forum?

Page Rank is increased by inbound links.

Original keyword rich content, site structure, url, backlinks, page rank and a whole host of other things contribute to SEO.

You must have at least 25 posts before they will display.

Rich

so, increase your inbound links. I've been doin that

What are backlinks?

And site structure?

Original keyword rich content... how does it know what content is good and what isn't? Does it just read how much a keyword shows up? If so, how much keywords should you add *%* *Without doing a black-hat kind of SEO*?

I agree that SEObook is an excellent investment for anyone interested in SEO.

A very, very simplified take on SEO is:

Quality Content and Quality of Links, or in some cases volume of links will be enough......

rackdude... any info you gleam from people on forum, or articles on sites will not give you the full picture.

seriously read that book :)

kk, fine, make me spend my money...

:)

i always find it easier to print e-books and read them.

you should have seen the faces of the guys at the printing shop when i asked them to bind that mother! ;)

well worth the money, if you go for it you can read it in a day (even me mr slow arse reader could).

good luck with your seo

ight, got the seo book, man this is gonna be a long tough read *pulls out 3 doubleshots*

any other books or sites I should view also?

Seo

Hi,

rather than spending your hard earned $s.

Type in SEO into google and look at the sites that come up. There are lots of sites that give you guidence for free.

If you have ie7 then go view source and look at the source good for the SEO sites that get ranked highest. You need to do what they do!

Good tip, not as easy as it sounds but if you are a practical type of person you can attempt to reverse engineer your competitors search engine rankings. Try a linkdomain command in Yahoo site explorer....

By the way view source is accessible in all browsers, not just IE7!
