We have set up a site for those new to UK domain names.

We will attempt to post in summary form there any relevant information gleaned from the wealth of information made publically available from the many experienced members on this site.

The site can be seen at:

http://www.nameblog.co.uk

We hope this will provide answers to the basic questions everyone has when starting out with UK domains to save going over and over them in the forums.

If anyone has a suggestion for a new topic for this site, please let us know.

Registration Formalities for .co.uk

Hi, I understand that it is necessary to have a local (company) registration for
getting a .co.uk name. Is this so?

I would like to round off my collection of domains with .co.uk names.

Can anyone advise me how to go about doing this, at an affordable price,
say under $50? Names of companies reliably engaged in offering this
service will be a big help

Thanks
Sarawan

No, anyone anywhere in the world can register .co.uk domains. There's no local presence/local company requirement.

just a question regarding the .co.uk's im seeing everywhere.

Am I the only american on these forums?

Are there any american forums? parking sites?

it seems everything is Uk in this biz, or did I just end up in a Uk business loop with Namedrive and Acorn?

Is Domain holding really a great opportunity?.....

Hi, I'm new to the domain sector, and I'm sure this blog will prove very useful in my pursuit to understand this area.
What I fail to see though is how this is scalable? ie you hold 100's of domains each receiving £1/week, surely regardless of automation, devote the vast majority of your waking life to it's maintenance.....
Am I missing something?

Currently I'm promoting an affiliate program, which I think anyone with domains even loosely in the e-commerce, trader sector should definitely join, with any kind of traffic the revenue increase will be astronomical....anyway I'll leave that to you to decide!

Can anyone shed any light on this whole domain holding philosophy?
