Domain Names: stagnight.org.uk and hennight.org.uk

I am writing with regards to the domain names stagnight.org.uk and hennight.org.uk which are currently registered to your name

Unfortunately we have received a claim that this domain names were cancelled in error on 10 August 2012 allowing them to be available to register by you. Having investigated this matter, we have established that the domain names were cancelled in error and apologise for the length of time it has taken to contact you about this. We will have to act to correct this by cancelling the names and re-registering them for the original registrant.

This email is therefore to put you on notice that these names will need to be reverted to the original registrant within 24 hours from the time and date of this email and that, while this is occurring, we will not accept any transfer requests in respect of the names. We would also suggest that you do not enter into any arrangement to sell the names to a third party, as we are withdrawing the names.

We do apologise for this situation.

Should you wish to discuss this matter with me please do contact me on 01865 ...... or email me directly.

Regards

Where they dropped on that day after the usual suspended etc period. And you registered them?

Or were they dropped early?

Doesn't matter if they went through the full release cycle as normal or not. I had a premium domain taken off me a couple of months ago on the same premise.

Only thing you can do is escalate the claim and ask for full evidence. If the registrar has screwed up then they should be held accountable. If Nominet had an internal case open and they released them by mistake then there's not much you can do.

How and why they were released is the primary concern.

I only asked about the early drop so as to rule out any possible collusion.

I've seen a tag delete a couple of hundred before and just 1 registrant register them all.

Sad that they can pull them back if it was full cycle. Doesn't that give anyone who bothers the right to have them back.

shocking really. nothing is safe in the land of nom just now... (even if it was a registrars fault, which i'd hope it was otherwise anyone could be claiming domains back cancelled in error).

really though, what if you had went to the length of developing them?

I forgot to renew a domain that dropped last week... Might drop nominet an email!

i just checked domains and it was FTR so i reg them:( dont know about dates etc:) do thats mean i lost £14 and they will take my domains (and don't need to show me anything?:) :)

heh:(

I'm sure you will be entitled to your money back for the registrations.

I'm sure you will be entitled to your money back for the registrations.

Depends how they were regged. Mine was through my registrar credit account so not a problem.

If it was through a public registrar it may be interesting. Nominet reimburse registrar, registrar reimburses client... eventually after much gnashing of teeth and threats! :)

Happened to me on more than one occasion noms fault and registrars? You used to be able to request information but I’m not sure if it was compulsory that they give you it . Look on the bright side you’ve saved the money for the new .uk that’ll stuff all but a few org.uk even further down the food chain than they already are…
