Just some feedback that after losing my case to nominet to de register a domain set-up by a 3rd party to post grossly offensive and false statements I succeeded in getting the site banned by google. So don't believe that google won't act or that you need to go through the massive expense of a court order.

Think it speaks volumes and implies that nominets definition of a domain being set-up in bad faith needs bringing up to date. Cyber bullying and internet trolls should be stopped and nominet have the power to help. People can make your life hell for the cost of a domain name and some basic seo especially if your name or company name aren't common words.

People say take legal action but the estimated costs I received were hundreds of thousands with no guarantee of success as the person is abroad.

Thank you and well done google.

One single page (the homepage) has been removed from Google. All of the other pages are still indexed, and will still rank for random negative phrases. As an example one (i know nobody would search for this specific phrase, just showing that it will rank for random things)

The other issue is its far more hassle to have something removed than it is to host it elsewhere... if the complaint site owner wants to he'll get it live again within a couple of hours on a new domain. And he'll likely reword it slightly so that a DMCA complaint will fail...

That's because you are searching for the actual domain name.

A search for paymatters gives me:

In response to a legal request submitted to Google, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page.
Com search was paymatters ?

I know a few years ago among the many tricks used in gambling/gamming sites attempting to get G to ban, non cache, list etc was a favoured method but even when G stated it would for whatever reason was pretty hit and miss maybe it hasn’t changed? Could be clearing cache of thousands of servers just takes time?

That was the point of my post to show other members that you can get results removed from serps without a court order.
