Does anyone know what is trademark/copyright in connection with the Olympics?

I have a domain which is only accepted on certain domain parking sites.

Is there anything written down legally somewhere or is it just a case of some sites just not taking any chances?

Any comments appreciated.

Anything with the word olympic is copyrighted/trademarked. They have a history of of being very aggresive when it comes to exploitation of this.

Dump it, you won't be able to park it or sell it or use it in anyway.

I agree with denchomsky. The Olympics organisation is very protective over its intellectual property so olympics domains aren't worth the trouble to domain parking companies (and they aren't usually worth the trouble for domainers either).

Very likely to be, yes. I'm sure you will find some Olympics threads here which will confirm it, because this has been discussed in detail in the past.

why is nothing ever done about olympic airline,olympic holidays,ect., is it more to do that domaineers 'cave in'?...olympic is a very old word that has been hijacked by big business,..z
