Ongoing Domain Dispute

I am a new member to Acorn Domains. However I have been domaining since 1997 and I am based in the USA. I look forward to spending more time on this site. I have a collection of Irish and Scottish interest domains.

I am dealing with an ongoing three year dispute over a generic .co.uk domain. The complainant first did a Nominet DRS and lost, then made a Nominet DRS Appeal and lost, then filed a complaint in a London Court but never attempted to serve it, then filed another complaint in an English County Court which eventually was served against my dissolved US Corporation but then the complainant lost this and has been ordered to pay indemnity costs. The complainant has apparently filed a new claim against my US Corporation but this has been stayed until the indenmity costs are paid for the second claim. The solicitor representing the complainant is well known in the UK domain space and was a Board member of Nominet, until recently. While he was a Board member he represented the complainant in this particular .co.uk domain dispute. This solicitor recently steeped down from the Nominet Baoard and Nominet are seeking legal costs against him as they filed legal proceedings before he stepped down from their Board. They claimed in these proceedings that he had a conflict of interest being on their Board while simultaneously representing individual domain name stake holders with Nominet related disputes.

I was wondering if any of you could recommend who you think are the best .co.uk domain name solicitors, so that I can engage them to deal with this dispute? Many thanks.

That's a lot of information mate to ask a simple one line question. You go into an amazing amount of detail of what has gone on, then don't know a single drs solicitor.

Sorry to say this but is this a quick character assasination attempt? Because something doesn't quite smell right here IMO. If I'm wrong then fair enough and apologies, but you could have just asked "does anyone know a drs solicitor?"

Presumably your existing lawyers have done an excellent job already in your favour based on the case history, so why exactly are you looking to secure the services of a (UK) domain lawyer when you have already won legal arguement (in the US it seems) for costs and the case has been 'stayed'? Where has the case been stayed? Also, how is your case a 'Nominet related dispute'?

Bit puzzled as to you saying that nominet say there was a conflict of interest ? (that could be a matter for the law society )
As the complainant lost the case with the solicitor who was on the board if he was on the panel then person would have possible claim to a re appeal because of the conflict of interest ? also is it 'Small Claims Court', special procedure for handling smaller claims in a county court (Maximum claim amount £5,000) you ask for a solicitor but you may need a barrister or no one at all, There are plenty of magic or Silver Circle firms what sort would depend greatly on the nature of the complainants claim e.g they have a trademark, stole the domain, breached a contract etc etc

Yup, he opens a timely account, posts about 30 mins later, then doesn't bother coming back for almost 2 weeks (i checked every day) until the 11th, doesn't reply to questions. What does he expect?

Or piddle on their chips - but I am intrigued by these events - if this guy has won so many court cases, why is the poor sod on the other side still fighting?

If someone piddles on my chips, I might shove them in his face, but I will not eat them ...
