Report says nearly a quarter of UK advertising spending is online - I'd guess it's a lot higher percentage than that. Think of all the private advertising that goes on under the radar.

Does Google publish it's Adwords revenue by country? If not then I would agree with you. There aren't many traditional small mom and pop businesses that would spend over 50% of their revenue on advertising, but I know loads of them online. G is transforming from a gift to small businesses into a leach. My personal G spend is approaching £500K, my highest single cost by a large margin.
