Hi all,

I own portsofcall.co.uk and I'm deciding what to do with it. I can't do anything with it just now because of my day job, it's in my contract that I can't work on any travel related websites,

Would anyone like to hazzard a guess as to what this domain would be worth undeveloped?

It's a "brandable" domain, valuation is highly subjective, and you have to be very lucky to get that one decent offer (but it happens). Generic domains are much easier to value. Holding a portfolio of brandables if for those of great faith and resources.

Thanks for the feedback accelerator. I'm probably best leaving it on the pending list and working on it later.

I'm thinking it's great for cruises, dev it using aff programmes and prove a revenue, maybe get it ranked for decent terms (won't be easy) and then you could sell it to the tourist industry for £500+, you'll have to show that it's been making money though and where it's ranked etc.

Good luck

Doodlebug,
I bought it with cruises in mind but with a slight twist to the norm. I work as a web dev. in the travel industry which is why I can't work on it just now. The big challenge would be to get it ranked, working in the industry I know how hideously competitive that niche is!

Cheers

Isn't there a computergame called ports of call? Vaguely remember we used it in shipping school years ago for training.

Perhaps you could setup a simple site about that game( if the game actually exists, got a memory like a drain )
