it was my sale, and to an enduser
they approached a number of people over different options and sale took a long time to go through. i wanted more tbh
i guess those they approached wanted much more
had offered here years ago but noone wanted for peanuts thank God.
always knew was a very good domain
it fits many applications and is a pure one word linked to maps, geo, and actually in this case, advertising
considering size of the industry it's being used for is a perfect fit too
i imagine they appraoched the .co.uk people but no doubt they wanted six figures or more or didnt even reply
bit like domains at domains.co.uk, they simply will never sell and likely never lease either
we all sell for peanuts from time to time on here but people need to remember you are buying at peanuts here on acorn and people still want to offer less peanuts!
so all things considered i feel was a very good buy for buyers.
they could have ponied up another 50k, 100k or more for .co.uk and achieved what? if they indeed were in the hunt for anything but a .org.uk
i really don't know
keep hoping Rob will post about the xxx,xxx .org.uk sales
