Sedo has published a new index of domain prices, and part of the supporting material has the following "TLD pecking order" in terms of domain values: COM > DE > CO.UK > NET > EU > ES > ORG > INFO > BIZ > MOBI

Can't see many holes in it, except for the undue prominence of "EU", probably because Sedo has a strong pan-European sales team.

Here's the link for more info: http://www.idnx.com/#tld

what i found most surprising was .co.uk is valued more then .net
am sure i've seen higher sales of .net names then .co.uk.....

I have a few generic one-word .net which I would ALL very happily trade for .co.uk ;)

Cheers for the link Edwin - I love all the analytical stuff. But as you say if it's pulled just from Sedos data then it certainly needs to be treated with due understanding of their predominately European market.

That top sales graph is quite interesting with its apparent 3 year cycle troughs - obviously far to little time-line on the data to be able to go over reading its analysis.

If you have any other links to similar statistical analysis. i'd like to get my links updated.

.eus are actually much more popular than people give credit for...no idea why or who buys them.

I'm having trouble understanding some of the pairwise data. On the face of it, .co.uk is worth only 69 per cent less than .com, with .de worth 24 per cent less than .com. But then the way I read it, .co.uk is worth 55 per cent more than .de. Have a feeling there may be negative sign missing, Or have I got this completely wrong?

It would be quite interesting to debate why .de names look to be worth double .uk? Why have the Germans 'got' domain names yet we haven't.
