Does anyone know an online site that can tell you many many other sites share an IP - i have seen it before but cant find it now

Bear in mind that the results could be very odd unless you know what you're looking at.

One of our IP's will have several thousand parked sites on it, another does web forwarding for several thousand which all relate back to two servers. Another IP has several thousand sites but they're all hosted using an LVS director splitting the traffic over 8 web servers.

well what ever the name it worked - 242 on mine - i suppose thats not bad 1000 is normal
