I was interested to see on my visit to 'shop.com' that it redirect to 'shop-com.co.uk', it shows the power of the regional .co.uk gTLD.

How many other great .com domains are redirected to not so good .co.uk names?

Well spotted, but what's that all about then? Why not have the site that is branded as shop.com resolving to shop.com?
