Hi Guys

Who here is a fan of Spotify? Personally, I love it, and don't see myself changing service anytime soon. However, at their World Wide Developer Conference on Monday, Apple announced their Apple Music streaming service. Fortunately, Spotify has just closed a $526 million funding round, so it has the means to compete, see:

Any predictions on who's going to win the streaming war?

Apple lost me at the start of the speech 'iTunes is the best music jukebox in the world'.

Who are they kidding - iTunes has always been painful to work with, a horrible UI and files / databases all over the place.

I love spotify too - I have a sonos/spotify and it's perfect for my needs so won't be changing anytime soon either.

Use Spotify but a lot of content is missing on Artists and discographies.

Apple may pull away with more expansive content at hand with iTunes artist/label contracts?

A quote from the article:

"As of February, Apple had cash reserves of $178 billion."

A formidable competitor for anyone. That said, Spotify is totally focused on this space. However, Apple does have lots of wealthy users that are very keen on its products.
