Anyone got any success stories for selling domain names by direct approach by Email to potential end users...What is the success rate and is there a template you can use for a formal approach.

Many Thanks in Advance

I've done a few sales from direct approaches; once I have less work on will possibly offer brokering but only on the best premium names .

Won't be posting up my template which I use and modify each time, however as long as the name is good and you can convince a contact that it will be beneficial to them you shouldn't have too much difficulty selling it. I generally include some recent (and slightly better) sold domain prices in my email and leave my domain open to offers. The few direct approach campaigns I've done have all resulted in a sale :)

Make sure you contact as many suitable end users as possible and keep note of who you've contacted. If it's a very premium name you may prefer to make contact by snail mail or telephone rather than an email which is quite easy to delete without fully reading.

Good luck!

You could actually try posting domain names with a few of the auction sites, but be careful as you may have to pay a premium/commission once the domain is sold - or in some cases fees are required upfront'
