Hi, i've been offered a affiliate site which is a developed Blogspot.com subdomain but it has a well known trade mark in it e.g. TRADEMARKdiscountvouchers.blogspot.com, i know the sub domain has little value but the site has made a very good income for many years, the blog is not cheap but on a pure profit multiple is good value. Is this just a matter of time before it's closed down? Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks

Scott

I believe if your making commercial use of the trademark in the url in the same class then your on shaky ground, a lot of affiliate scheme forbid url/category/folder structure containing the brand/trademark.

As has been said, use of a trademark in the domain or subdomain is often prohibited if you want to use a company's affiliate programme. This would suggest they can be unhappy about such usage. Personally I would check with the company first. If you don't get a reply then I personally wouldn't risk it, but each to their own.

Rgds

Scott, seriously, don't spent you money mate. I know from you're recent posts that you're keen to obtain good commercial web sites, but I'd give this a wide berth if I were you.
