Hate to talk politics but
Balls and milliband make me smile.
Sink the ship and then stand on the shore and criticise the rescuers for doing everything wrong.

The joy of politics eh.

They're all (well, the vast majority) hopeless and self serving.

Billy Connolly was right...anyone who actually wants to be a politician should be banned from becoming one!

Politics, It's all a show, just an illusion so we think we actually have a choice in anything.

Spend trillions on war kiling people, meanwhile NHS hospitals are dirty and under staffed.

Then they can't even look after the poor lads they send off to war and need charities like help for heros.. total disgrace.

Also we are dictated over by the European union, telling us what bloody lightbulbs we can have because they are better for the environment, yet they contain mercury, bloody great for the environment that is, landfills full of f'ing mercury.

I don't remember voting for anyone in the European Union to make laws for me???

It's all bs.

I could go on for hours lol.

Yup, certainly very much an illusion of choice. The promises never match or in any way even resemble what is actually delivered. I've detached myself from an allegiance to any of the big three, because beyond a point it all comes down to family culture or how well a particular brand of propaganda has worked on you. The light bulb eventually goes off and with it comes the realisation that regardless of your which box you tick, there will always be more snakes than ladders. It's a well oiled machine by this stage. Not as though there's anyone behind the wheel as such, which is perhaps the most disturbing aspect. Simply a piranha like gathering of those with enough power and money to feast on the lifeworks of the majority.

I watched a bit of the budget yesterday lunch time, what an embarrassment the way they behave - these idiots are supposed to be representing us and leading the country! Imagine what they were like when there were no TV cameras to show them up.

I suggested that just like the teachers made us sit boy, girl, boy, girl in lessons to make us behave, perhaps the MP's ought to sit, Labour, Tory, Lib Dem, Labour, Tory, Lib Dem... dropping in the occasional independent in-between. Perhaps that would make them behave!

As for who's in charge, it makes no real difference as they all spend time lining their pockets and undoing what the last lot did and finding someone to blame.

Election Manifestos ought to be a legally binding document so we know what vote for will be what we actually get and MP's should have free vote in all votes and have accountability directly to their local people instead of worrying about their political party career moves.

Monaghan, I always say to people who say vote for Labour - not Conservatives, it doesn't matter who is in power they are all selfish and greedy theives.

Given long enough, it's lose lose lose whoever you vote for.

Conservatives = better party if you have money
Labour = better party if you have none (until the whole county goes bust)

Another way of looking at it (again, very broadly speaking)

Conservatives = better party if you don't claim benefits of any kind
Labour = better party if you claim benefits of some kind

Neither is necessarily particularly appealing, but they certainly are different!
