I'd sell. emd boost has basically had its day - the benefit now is not anywhere close to what it used to be. Combine that with the fact Google want to rank brands, and the fact Web design is massively competitive and one of the only niches everyone can pile up legitimate links via footer credits on client sites, and the general akwardness of ending uk.com..... I'd take the 300

I didn't mean I thought it was .uk.com subdomain.... I just mean '.uk.com' ending in general is awkard and only is/was of any value for seo keyword spam

I agree - looks fine to me. However I would also be tempted to accept this sort of offer.

Because if you wanted to use your domain to show you were UK based, you'd have used a .co.uk.

If you wanted to try to spam phrase 'xxxx yyy UK' you'd have used xxxxyyyyUK.com.

imo these ending domains only devalue further with the launch of .uk

I couldn't afford webdesign.co.uk lol think it shoukd for 50 k

I would say its worth more than 300 quid. If i were you i would spend an hour or two contacting end users, lots have "web design uk" in their titles.

I will say though, web design companies from my experience are very tight when it comes to buying domain names. But you never know.

Established web design agencies would have a brand name, which they would have established over time so I dont think they would want it.

Again if I were starting a new web design agency I would want a brand name, not webdesignuk.com, a name that isn't a brand in this sector always seem cheap and a bit spammy to me.

You could say they could point the domain to thier site but how many people would physicaly type this into an address bar?

IMO opinion a directory would be the best use for this, which reduces your potential market.

I also find *****uk.com contradictory in a domain name, as I feel .com is a global extension, not a national one.

I would take the 300

I agree with Denchomsky - the domain is in no way good enough for someone already established to want to change to it. I think unless you value your own time at nothing, trying to go through search results for that phrase and emailing people is a complete waste of time.

I'd definitely sell to your current bidder, at more than £300 if he'll pay it or at £300 if he won't. imo its a low quality name and its going to get worse over time.

imho, I don't like it that much, but do you know what, as 'web design' names go, and considering what's ftr out there, if you're launching some sort of www.webcreationuk/com type venture it fits the bill quite well

For your average £499 WP website brigade it carries a sense of false credibility.

Plus you are aware of http://webdesignuk/co/uk?

I think I'd want a bit more.

p.s besides, to me £300 is an offer that means 'I recognise some value and will probably pay more'.

I think its worth a tad more to the right buyer. t tells people what it does on the tin & where they are based....memorable and some prefer .com's.

My opinion may be a tad biased as I bought printinguk.com (for £350) with the aim of renaming my printing business because it sounded and looked good. Now selling that sedo for 250 though!.............would make a nice pairing.

I'd take it as I want shut of my names barr one............but if you can hold out then I'd counter offer and try and do a deal closer to 500 quid.
