What can I do about this?

Previously someone had listed the job of cloning my site on a freelancer site. This lead to idiots making loads of fake offers on my site. I managed to get in touch with the person responsible for the listing, he apologised and cancelled the listing.

A couple of weeks ago it started again and I've wasted a shed load of my time looking at stats and blocking these idiots at ip level, eventually blocking Pakistan altogether and a load of other ip ranges. Here's the result so far:

I don't know if the previous person is responsible again, but the domain in the logo belongs to him. I've contacted him but had no response.

Everything about this has been a complete waste of my time.....What would you do in this situation?

Cheers Dave, definitely an option but think I may have to wait until they've finished bodging the site together and it's running on it's proper domain before going down that route.

If this is down to the previous person, the thing that p*sses me off is that I tried to help him out with some advice after he cancelled the previous listing!

Probably stating the obvious, and assuming it is the same guy...

- Bypass him and go direct to his host. To a degree, location/host reputation dependant.

- Contact the marketplace where he listed the site for sale and ask for his for his account to be terminated.

Definitely the same guy, he seems to have relisted the job without mentioning my site and I'm guessing has then given the winning bidder my site:

I'm just not sure how effective going to the host or using dmca now would be long term, as the site is being built on what I'm guessing is the freelancers server. Having said that, harassing the dick that's been making fake offers does sound appealing!

I block all traffic to my sites unless it's from the UK or US, on the basis I doubt anyone else would buy a .co.uk domain. This makes it easier to review the remaining traffic.

As has been said, go for the host and keep doing that if he changes host, he will give up eventually.

Should hopefully be obvious but instigating a DDos is illegal and could get you in a world of trouble.

A combination of DMCA and a complaint to the marketplace should "send a message" loud enough - and both are legitimate and above board!

I've sold quite a few .co.uk domains to European buyers - never to Americans.

I've had buyers from Canada, Australia, NZ, Germany and Poland (those are just the ones that spring instantly to mind) so you might be missing a trick there!

Me too - the Germans especially! They get their domain names over there!
