I've just been checking a few things in Google's keywords tool. I realised that the default is to provide desktop and laptop figures. It is possible to change this to mobile. For most of the phrases I checked, it's a lower figure but for one word, "pron" (which I am soliciting offers for as pron.co.uk) the mobile search figure is actually higher!
We're talking 6,120,000/246,000 global/local on the desktop, and 7,480,000/368,000 on mobile!
I guess that mis-spellings are more common on mobiles, and it's a more personal device so it's more appropriate for viewing porn on, but I just thought it was interesting.
When people quote these figures, are they adding desktop and mobile together? I know EMS isn't the be-all and end-all of domain names, but by excluding mobile search figures, some domains could be undervalued.
