Which extension is better and widely accepted?

.co.uk?
.me.uk?
.org.uk?

Thanks,
QFCO

This question is in the "domain research" section?

Let me use my Sherlock Holmes powers to guess something..... because you cunningly put the .me.uk into a rather unnatural second place in the question.....

You have just bought a load of "good" .me.uk which you are now hoping to sell on for £xxx to £xxxx ?

Glad to see you looking so perky Dale. My Sherlock Holmesian powers had also allowed me to see the "Looking for Uk...." thread....

Doesn't mean my prediction ain't true tho.... I mean seriously... is a full on .co.uk Generic investor going to ask if .me.uk is a better extension...?

Self portrait....

LOL quite so indeed. Anyway, I know now why I didn't get a reply to my PM to the OP about the other 'purchasing' thread.

Ty,
Thanks for trying to use your powers to guess my motive behind the question. In fact, I do not own any me.uk names. It was an honest inquiry.

Best,
QFCO

I'd put the value ratio something like this:-
.co.uk 95
.org.uk 4
.me.uk 1

Though even that may be too generous to .me.uk!

Lol... fair enough!

Another way of looking at it is to look at the numbers of each extension registered.

As of a month or two ago (August sometime), this was the distribution of registrations in the 3 extensions according to one of the tech guys at Nom:

7,147,682 .co.uk
478,733 .org.uk
115,914 .me.uk

It's also probably wise to remember that not all of the extensions have always been the same price historically for new registrations.

Regards

Those numbers of registrations paint a very similar picture when turned into percentages...
.co.uk 92.3%
.org.uk 6.2%
.me.uk 1.5%

However you look at it, .me.uk is a long long long way from being a commercially exciting extension.

Still potentially worth grabbing some to sit on for 10 years down the road, for an ownership cost of £25 (at current renewal costs), just like many .co.uk or .org.uk free to reg in 1999 might be valuable now.

Just don't expect to get much (if anything) form them for a good few years yet!

Define exciting?

Ok so they are worth squat all on the aftermarket but if they yield as high SERPS as .co.uk or .co.uk then the value is there....

Its all about inventory afterall and theres only so much of it!
