Of course that should read "Namespace"

This needs revisiting.

Why would you invest in a .couk Knowing the growth/returns that Gtlds deliver so much better. Not hard to understand. - A shame the uk namespace has been so well captured.

I'm very interested how those that have "market capture" of the UK namespace equate to evolving growth ? O

Quite a harsh statement and untrue.

Depends why you are investing in the domain. Not everyone buys to flip etc.

It is a bit like saying why do people invest in properties which are situated in poorer areas, whilst knowing a better return can be made from investing in a better area.

Everyone has their own reasons whether it be lower cost to entry or just less risk. What you have described is not exclusive to just domain names, as different outlooks suit different individual circumstances.

It is a bit like saying to Tesco 'Why do you sell value food, when you can make far better returns from branded food'

The % return is probably better than .com. You can regularly hand reg/catch a .uk domain for between £5-£30 and sell it for 3/4/5 figures. Hand regging a .com with that sort of return is virtually impossible and as all drops go to auction with average/decent domains going for so much money the potential return is lowered well below the % return of .uk

In general you might make more money in .com but to do that you need a load of startup cash and be willing to risk large sums on a much smaller amount of domains.

I've seen growing sales and prices year on year for the past 6 years, it probably doesn't match the growth of .com but then neither does the investment needed to get involved.
