Hi all - new to this site.

I'm interesting in seeing what you guys think of this web domain considering the recent developments within the pension industry regarding pension reciprocation / pension transferring / QROPS etc.

Anyone in the know have any idea what it could be worth?

Cheers

Not a huge amount in my opinion, because sophisticated financial products like pensions can't easily be sold straight to consumers via an internet site. Many financial domains, e.g. share dealing domains, can be worth less than you might at first think, because a site owner can't profit from a high volume of direct to consumer sales.

Thanks for the input

hmmm I guess my feeling on it was, that I currently sell leads to these financial companies via pension websites... and the pension news site could be a feed to my lead generation vehicles. I have no idea if it would work though... just depends on how much traffic I could create on it.

Thankyou for your reply - what you've said makes sense.

You probably would get some traffic from it ... for serious lead generation though you want to target the longtail phrases.

Agreed

Totally agree with you there.

The problem I have is the industry I generate leads in is VERY immature at the moment. Therefore any traffic I can get is useful.

Bit crap to know that the only value this domain has, is the intrinsic value of what it can do for me (i.e.. its probably worthless to anyone else).

The problem I have is Pension release/transferring/ Pension reciprocation / QROPS is not googled very much whatsoever. when the industry booms then obviously owning the longtail domains will mean a significant marketshare in the industry (I own quite a few).

Im currently working on www.pensiontransfer247.co.uk as an example. (some git beat me to the punch on pensiontransfer.co.uk :(

I'm a total amateur with web domain sales... just trying to make a living, so thankyou again for the comment.

People will search for pensions info on the internet, but my guess is it's quite hard to monetise that traffic in terms of making a sale (maybe easier through AdSense) because so much info is needed it tends to suit offline consultations more.

Obviously a domain like pensions.co.uk would be worth a lot ... but pensionnews.co.uk would be quite a difficult sale.

some git beat me to the punch on pensiontransfer.co.uk :(

No need to be like that lol :p

I developed this for the current owner, shame they've switched servers and not updated the .htaccess to serve php through html pages :(

Cheers,

Craig

lol

hahaha :)

Well im kind of glad he did!

I've developed an absolute shedload of content for the pensiontransfer247.co.uk site, so when it goes live im hoping it might knock him down with the state his site is in lol
