OARC 46
Full title: DNS-OARC 46 Workshop
Date: 16-17 May 2026
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
Venue: Edinburgh International Conference Centre
Format: Hybrid, in-person and online
OARC 46 will take place on 16-17 May 2026 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Organized by DNS-OARC, this workshop brings together DNS operators, researchers, engineers, security specialists, registry and registrar professionals, infrastructure providers, and others involved in the operation and development of the Domain Name System.
DNS-OARC is a non-profit membership organization focused on improving the security, stability, and understanding of the Internet’s DNS infrastructure. Its workshops are important technical gatherings for people working directly with DNS operations and research.
The OARC 46 programme is expected to focus on DNS-related technical and operational topics, including DNS operations, deployment experience, performance, resilience, scaling, monitoring, security, privacy, DNSSEC, DNS abuse, encrypted DNS transport, policy developments, data-driven research, protocol extensions, and lessons learned from real-world incidents.
According to the Call for Contributions, talks are expected to be highly technical and relevant to the DNS community. Presentations may be 10 or 20 minutes long, with time for questions. Talks will be broadcast live and recorded, and presentation slides will be made publicly available.
OARC 46 is also scheduled adjacent to RIPE 92, making Edinburgh an important meeting point for the internet infrastructure community during that week.
The workshop schedule includes a Mentor Mingle for new attendees on the evening of 15 May, the main workshop days on 16 and 17 May, and an OARC 46 social event on the evening of 16 May.
Why this event matters:
For domain registries, registrars, DNS operators, hosting providers, security teams, network engineers, researchers, and infrastructure professionals, OARC 46 is a valuable opportunity to follow current DNS developments, learn from operational experience, and meet the technical community behind the global DNS ecosystem.
