    Surely pushing organic results below the fold and making those solely brands is going to begin alienating users? Non-tech friends have actually mentioned to me Google is being weird lately. If they destroy the user experience at the expense of profit they may find it comes back to bite them.

    What was your first site like?

    Mine wasn't too horrendous thankfully. I'd built a shop in 2003 using osCommerce and left it pretty plain except for the product pictures. Should have carried on with it but the products were a bit of a grey area legally so didn't want the potential hassle.

    Monthly Revenue etc.

    I use two spreadsheets in Google Docs. One is for accounts for this tax year with running totals for credits, debits and balance. The other is 'Monthly Commissions'. Months down the side with the networks across the top (with running totals).

    Excellent thread! Some inspiring stories and ideas here. The winters in the UK really get me down so I'd love to live abroad, but would miss having my family round the corner. I do LOVE Wales too, with the coast one way and the mountains the other. My day job seems very stable at the moment...
