Why would he be transferring the domain through a 1&1 control panel? Seems like he changed his details in his 1&1 account thinking he was doing it for a single domain when it will automatically do it for them all. Was he trying to transfer the domain without paying a transfer fee?

1&1 are incompetent but this guy speaks with forked tongue.

From reading what he says he seems to have a clue about what he is doing. I think he was transferring this name because the person that bought the name from him was also with 1&1. The other person wanted it in his account not the seller, so did an internal transfer.

Unfortunately looks like 1&1 transferred all the domains into the buyers account. So logged into nom and stole all the sellers names.

It's all to do with the password request that can get people into Nom's account. I think I have had reason to mention it on 3 different occasions this week. It's a flawed system from Nominet that allows fraud.

As greywing indicated, its a Nominet issue (in part).

If a .uk Registrar changes the contact details to one .uk domain, Nominet will change the contact details to all domains associated with that Nominet account.

As those contact details include an email address, you will get access to those domains through online services. Nominet will not change the registrant field (legal ownership).

DomainMonster did this once and I had access (and control) to all the chaps domains.

If I was selling a .uk domain to someone I would do nothing in my registrar account other than cancel the contract, the transfer is done through Nom so why is he editing details in his registrar account?. Surely you can't bump a domain to someone else on the same registrar?

Don't get it tbh, if I did what this guy did then I would expect the outcome he has found.
