With all the threads about 123 i thought i start one posing solutions ;)

Can anyone recommend an alternative to 123. Personally i havent had that many problems with them but admittedly they've missed a couple and had to settle for a refund but i havent seen a better control panel.

the only other one i've seen is 1&1 and didn't like that - some tasks it just wasn;t obvious what to do, i ended up posting here i think on how to do it - help lot here! ;)

if someone knows all the players perhaps we could have a poll? include 123 though some people dont like change ;)

If poss can post screenshots of the control panel for alternatives that would be great (apologies admin)- i go on looks alone - shallow i know!

I was very reluctant to stop using 123. Ok..had a few problems but not as many as some one here - and nothing that wasn't quickly resolved but checking the whois for an hour after a reg... then watching it regged by someone else was enough for me.

I'm using UK reg now. OK the control panel is crap but they are damn quick.

Surely someone from 123 is aware of the critical posts on here. I just wish 123 would say something so at least we know where we stand. Perhaps someone here with a bit of influence could contact 123, ask for a statement and make their status known to all on this forum.

OK.. they may not make much on a Domain reg - but every one is a potential hosting customer.

1&1 are ok for someone who just want's to register a domain for a Website... but no more. I've moved my 123 aff links to 1&1 - better commision ;)

Paul from weycrest.co.uk

Acornmember too: weycrestco

Fantastic... Bang on the money... He'll Reg, AutoPark (tell him nameservers) and Push to 123 (or I assume where ever)... All in one go...

Sorted everytime... Never any issue... A+++ - 10/10.

well i know theres a silent majority here that havent said anything yet.
If Paul from weycrest.co.uk is good - what we need here is someone like Ed from ND who'll give up front, honest answers and incorperate feature requests etc basically some one with an active presence and who'll listen (we love to moan)

its got to be a tempting business plan for someone - if i had the time i'd build my own site but ................i havent :-D

ukreg were fine for a few years with my domains but I made the mistake of taking out hosting with fasthosts. After a year I no longer needed it so emailed to say I wouldn´t renew. Heard nothing for months then found myself unable to admin any domains because of unpaid fees! The laugh was they were not even providing the service they wanted me to pay for! Took ages to sort out and needless to say I moved all my names from ukreg.

Denying me access to all my names was not the most reputable of actions - we are talking less than £50 hosting here.

The lesson is NEVER host your names with the company you register them through.
